Long story short, my laptop from my previous job was a take home deal and I got to keep it. I've got Norton Anti-Virus on my home computer with a 2 year license for up to 3 computers, and would like to install it on this unit. Only problem is, it prompts me for a password when I try to uninstall Kaspersky, which I don't have. Wondering if there's a way around it. It's version 6.0.4.1424. Thanks.

Try doing it in Safe Mode.

Or maybe install CCleaner and see if that can uninstall it.

I'd actually use Microsoft's anti virus. It's free and pretty powerful for what it is.

use google.

there is about 9 methods.

I'd start with the special utility to remove it.

google something like

uninstall password kaspersky 6.0

Trying something called a "Remover" at the moment, after rebooting in safe mode to run an application. Fingers crossed...

Thanks a lot for all the input. The Remover did the trick!
