A few different companies make them, mostly Mann and Nippon. I use Nippon filters on my Honda. I've cut a few apart, and they seem to be really good quality, comparable to a Napa Gold, and cheaper in price. That's why I use them.
that's what I was thinking, I knew they were pretty good, i jsut wanted someone elses confirmation
I have never seen an Ultra-8 filter, but I have seen some other Ultra-8 parts. If the filter is the same quality as their other stuff, I would stay away.

It is made by Nippon. I don't know much about Nippon quality.

Altrom is an aftermarket parts supplier, similar to Bap-Geon. If this filter is made by Nippon, it's excellent quality. I've gone out of my way to use Nippon oil filters over the years for Acuras, Hondas, Infinitis and Isuzus. Never had a problem. They used to be made in Japan but are now likely coming from Malaysia.
