labman,
What percentage of the mix would toluene need to be (in gasoline) for the mix to dissolve the things that toluene dissolves and gas doesn't? I am not looking for a specific number. I assume that the answer will depend on the solute. But, are you talking about 1%, 10%, 50%, ect. From what I can tell, it seems that you would need a fairly large fraction toluene to impart toluene characteristics into a gasoline base.
