Agreed. However, fixing the PCV valve won't remove what has already deposited. It will prevent new deposits.

I am really happy that this additive regimen seems to have reversed the damage done.

I concur with your thoughts.
 
I like and use FP60.
However, the 'clean' picture of the ports is a pretty standard pattern. That's what we see on normal, untreated, civilian vehicles. Where the injectors directly spray is clean, with a little residue on the sides. So fixing the PCV stopped the heavy crud build up, and allowed normal plain fuel wash to keep things clean, as a result.
I just balk at saying this is proof that the benifits are attributable to the cleaners.
