I have a '99 Regal GS with the SC 3800 engine. I put AutoRx in the tranny about 2500 miles ago. It's ready to be flushed. I'd like to go with synthetic tranny fluid. Can I do that now or do I have to rinse with conventional tranny fluid? The AutoRx instructions for trannys says nothing about this.

I knew I could count on Frank to give me an answer:) So the bottom line is, I can go straight to synthetic tranny fluid. Any reason not to? My options are either Mobil 1 or Amsoil. I'm a prefered customer with Amsoil, so the price is about the same.

The complexity of tranny are not as complex as that in a motor, just purge with new fluid. An auto tranny does not have combustion gasses, dust, moisture, ect. to contend with with every motor stroke. Tranny deposits are not the same as motor deposits, in many regards.
