What do the big 3 recommend on their 1/2 tons? I assume they prescribe different OCI on different engines. For example, maybe Ford has differences in ecoboost vs their 5L V8.

Ford uses an OLM, as does GM. Not sure on Dodge.

I've learned that the 3UR-FBE FFV has different valves and color coded seals and gaskets than the 3UR-FE (10K OCI). I also think Toyota doesn't have a clue what fuels their customers will choose to use. Since the truck doesn't have and OLM, maybe Toyota is just playing it safe with the 5K/6 mo OCI with 0W-20 GF5.

I also noticed that Toyota says not to use fuel additives with E85 because most are incompatible with the fuel.

It takes 7.9 qts for a oil and filter change. I'm OK with 5K OCI's. That won't be a problem at all. It's what I usually do anyways.
