Thoughts on Valvoline SynPower 5W-30?

To me it seems overpriced. No ACEA A/B approval, not good for extended drain yet priced like oils that are.

When Synpower is priced like M1, PU, and Edge, it's not worth it.

If it was priced like QSUD and Warren synthetics then it would be worth it.

Napa synthetic is rebranded Synpower and often goes on sale for $3.49/qt or so. That's the only time it is worth buying.

+1 Could never figure out why because PP and Mobil 1 I consider to be better oils.

Probably because either M1 or PP can retain their TBN well enough for longer drain intervals.
I've had two really good UOAs with PP on some old iron, one really good one with Maxlife Nextgen on an old crock, and a decent one with Synpower on our newest car, with TBN down to 2 after only 5K.
