Delo 400 LE 15w40 straight from the bulk tank of the local distributor. The particle count is a little high but it will come down with bypass.

Yes. I just checked some older virgin samples that I have in my database of the same oil and they were all in the 450-550 range.

I will send a sample of the same oil from a gallon bottle tomorrow to compare.

Interesting, especially since they list an "abnormal" number, which is a useful recommendation. What test method do they use for the contamination analysis? If you can also get the make and model number of the test equipment, it would help my database info as well.

If these result came from a true optical particle count, then the oil is exceedingly clean. Of the results I have, however, the DELO is the cleanest of the bunch!

Looks like I maybe better off then I thought, I am replacing a camshaft and bought zinc additive with the cam, I run Delo 15-40 current supply consists of a few unopened gallons from 2007, I was under impression that Zinc had finally been removed from Delo at some point.

Even allowing for the 10% tolerance isnt the max for phosphorus 1320 ppm?

Also 7.40 TBN seems a little low.

A common misconception. There are just a handful of zinc-free oils. The Zn content of HDEOs has been lowered perhaps 15-25% at most since 2006. And perhaps 50% at most even in GF-5 PCMOs.

Sorry to revive and old thread but wondering if you have hit the new mark for a UOA and VOA from the 1gallon bottle.
Reason for asking is I am looking at this for a 1985 Toyota Land Cruiser that I will be picking up and this is sold at my local Costco.

Yes I got it. It reads a little higher on the TBN and a little lower on the Boron.

I'm out in the field right now. My aircard is giving me limited service to access my database. I will post these without edit. I can make a link later to a PDF later if you can't read these.
