Is it just me or do they like to break if it's really hot outside?

I had a front one break when I wasn't even on it! I was standing next to it. When I got home, I replaced it, but the next day I broke another, this time while riding on a fairly well paved road.

These are front wheel spokes too.

I don't see how. Steel spokes and steel rims have the same thermal expansion characteristic. Spoke tension should be the same at any temperature.

You might have a point here. I always though that spokes were stainless steel and rims aluminum.

Their webpage give no indication:

Looking at Performance Bike's webpage confirms that this aluminum/stainless steel combo is pretty common.
