Dry traction is not great; wet traction is horrible and the tires hydroplane enough to scare me.

It's like the compound has hardened beyond it's useful life.
Anyone else experienced this?

Probably alot of folks are having this experience! Rubber does harden over time and you're experiencing this at a rapid pace.
The 15K miles on your daughters tires are about 1/3rd-1/2 worn already, according to what customers seem to be getting in terms of longevity.

The KR-21's have been dropping in the ratings as other newer tires are eclipsing them in those rating. It seems as though the KR-21's test well when new and most customers have OK success with'em only to about 30K-40K miles(1/2 of their rated miles)

I'm sure that Kumho is ready for a replacement tire for the KR-21's and right now, I am not recomending them to those who want tires for the long haul, only short timers or those who want a decent tire but, will be getting rid of their vehicle soon and still need tires.

The KR-21's have private label priced and longevity(it seems) but a better OTD quality tire meaning that they usually balance well/better and perform in foul weather better than just about any private label tire to about the time that they're worn out(soon).

Now with all of the customer complaints about the lack of longevity, I'd buy'em for myself for the short term but, that's all! I am currently in need(sort of) to replace my 225-55-17 summer tires only on my Altima and I may consider the KR-21's if they come in my size and the price is low!
I'm not looking for high(er)performance, I'm looking for foul weather performance(namely rain) and I think the KR-21's will do the trick for several summers considering that the tires I will be replacing are G/Y Eagle LS, only a so-so tire IMHO!

Folks that I have recomended these KR-21's to, are still thanking me for this recomendation especially(ESPECIALLY) for the price. So, to say the least, they're not for every vehicle.
