An affiliated supplier, a bit like Delphi/GM and Visteon/Ford.

Koreans are still big on giant conglomerates. Wholly-owned but "independent" affiliates.

Hyundai (in one form or another) is estimated to emply around 30% of the Korean workforce, as well a a sizable percentage of Korean GDP. So anything you buy from Korea may have a bit of Hyundai in it, in one form or another,

Wouldn't GM much rather buy GMDAT parts, before Hyundai parts? I think this is the entire reason GM bought Daewoo.

I really suspect Daewoo is making all of the plastics for GM... bumpers, grill work, dashes, instruments, interiors...but at this point its just a strong hunch.

I suspect that Hyundai can sell GM the parts for less than the GMDAT can sell GM the parts.
