Looks like we'll have to throw the term "Dino Oil" out the window...

The theory is simple: Crude oil forms as a natural inorganic process which occurs between the mantle and the crust, somewhere between 5 and 20 miles deep

Why don't they try to duplicate this process?
If this turn out to be true, I'd expect gas to cost no more than $.50 and oil changes to go from the recommended 3k miles to 1500 miles

.....just keep green peace away or they'll throw one heck-of-a-crude-fit!

Read some stuff recently about the laboratory manufacture of methane, using Calcium carbonate, water, and intense heat and pressure.

That process makes sense, and is undoubtedly at least in some way contributing to our methane reserves.

Once you've got the methane, then polymerising it is something that we do all day everyday.

Is it 0.000000001% of the source of our reserves, or 99.9999999% of our reserves ?
