What is the point of these threads? Is someone going to tabulate the data and create a meaningful report?

In my personal vehicles I used to run K&N but I have now swapped over to the new(er)Royal Purple filters since they came out. When I am helping out friends or family and they ask me to get an OC kit they usually don't want to spend the $12-$15 for a premium filter like I use so for them I will generally get either Purolator, Bosch, Wix/Napa, or the OEM( AC Delco, Motorcraft, MOPAR ). I will not use the cheapo stuff( STP, Fram, ST, etc... )ever.

FRAM user?

On the Tacoma I have used

Toyota OEM 90915-yzzd1
Purolator Classic and Pure Ones
Denso First Time Fit 15-1002
Fram OCD Ph3614

My favorite is the Pure One and OCD. Easiest to get on and off due to the rough surface.

You could use a K&N or an AFE, but that might not make financial sense.

Not so much considering the 5K OCI's for warranty purposes. The OCD was a freebie in a oil change deal. I just try them all and eventually figure out which one works best for my priorities.

Today when I was advance I saw they had a special on PP and K&N filters, so I picked up 6 qts of PP and a K&N filter for the Equinox which will be due for a change within a month probably.

Have used what I could get the cheapest from STP,QS,Fram,AC,SuperTech,etc..ecept my 2 dodge trucks I bought and always used wix....The last 5 yrs only have used mostly napa gold During there fleet/farm sale once a yr like 50% off reg price, still use some wix and Amsoil filters. The puralotor filters are hard to find but good and seen good ratings on the MC filter... am using a mann filter on my lawn mower as its made in the us and under 4$... I WONT buy any oil or filters at WALMART no matter how much cheaper they might be....I do keep a few QS filters from Menards cheap at 1.99 on sale for emergency or quick fix if something happens or for a flush procedure. For HD EQPMT I like the Fleetguard or the donaldson filters..using them on my tractor..

Right now on the cars is Fram and Toyota OEM.

Have a stash of Frams and Puro's (classic and P1). The corolla will see pretty much Fram's for the next 20k.
