It is just under a year old and after dumping the factory fill after about 10 hours, he refilled with Amsoil motorcycle oil in the 10W30 flavor I believe. I'll be honest, I know very little about motorcycle oil or their lubrication systems. We just know to change it, and change it often, which typically occurs on a yearly basis. His ATV doesn't see a lot of hours.
With a quick search and some brief reading, I see were HDEOs' perform sufficiently in motorcycle applications, with the lack of friction modifiers. Am I correct in this comprehension?
We find nothing wrong with the Amsoil, but even with preferred customer pricing, plus shipping, the costs out weigh Rotella which is easily avaible at our Walmart and our oil hoard. I personally use T6 in the '86 Mazda and my brother uses T5 in his '96 S-10.
What it comes to, is Rotella, it its corresponding viscosity to the Rancher, sutible as a compliant engine oil in this application?
