That is funny! The early Indy 500 drivers from France drank wine while driving in the race. Maybe that's what some Nascar types need to do today.

well it would be very hard to do either on the Nurburgring (Nordschleife). The next corner is always there before you know it!! Its still there too even if you do know it!!!
 
Or in F1.
With all the controls on the steering wheel including the appropriate application of KERS and DRS while braking and cornering at 5 g's and the umpteen shifts per lap, the combination of physical and mental fatigue has got to be unparalleled in the racing world.
 
David Pearson always had a cigarette lighter in his race car.

F1 drivers are very busy, but they have paddle shift automatic transmissions and their races are always two hours or less by rule.
