I was wondering if Advance Auto brand conventional oil is decent? With a coupon, I can get it for $1.99 a quart. I change oil at 5K intervals.Who makes it?

Coastal. They meet specs most of the time, but got busted passing off 10w30 as 5w30 a few years back.

Yep....good for 4-5k I would hope...

It is OK, should would make it 4-5k. It all depends on what you are running it in. If it is your "workhorse" always treat it to some name brand oil. Peak is actually not bad esp. 5w20 if you are looking for a lower cost oil. Their synthetic is excellent on paper. Totally surprised me the other day when I looked at it.

I used the Advance Auto Full Synthetic with no problems. They sometimes have it on sale for a great price. When it first came out it was on sale for about $3 a quart and I got a good supply of it to add to Peak and ST Dino oils for a synthetic blend.

Cars and trucks ran smooth for 6K runs.
