Recommendations for a 2004 Kia Sorento

Hello everyone. We picked a new to us 04 Sorento today. The previous owner has been using Rotella T 10w30. I will be changing the oil tomorrow and would prefer using synthetic instead of conventional oil. I considered Rotella T6,but it seems its only available in 5w40 and I'm not sure that would be the correct weight to use.

What recommendations do you all have for me?

Didn't the car come with an owners manual?
5W30 should be the oil of choice for your climate if I had to guess.

5w-30 dino is what I'd use. Change it every 3-5k.

Take care of that transmission! Yours must have the older four-speed tranny. If it were mine I'd probably give MaxLife a shot. Hopefully it's as easy to service as many other Hyundais are - convenient drain bolt on the bottom of the pan.

It's a 3.5l V6, 75k miles, with a 4spd auto. And no, the manual wasn't included.

Gotta love the internet. I just downloaded the manual from the Kia Canada site. And I was about to buy one on ebay

The manual recommends 10w30. I'm going to use the Rotella T5. Thanks for all the input.
