All the good suggestions have been suggested already. Any name brand 30 or 40 weight oil will run great in that engine, conventional or synthetic. I haven't personally used the cooling system conditioner yet, but I suppose I should start now that I've got about 60k miles on the clock.

Thanks again. Glad I found this great community.

Subaru recommends changing the coolant every 30,000 miles and adding the conditioner. The conditioner is cheap, I paid $3.75 for it at the dealer. For coolant, I recommend the Zerex Asian formula, or genuine Subaru coolant if you can't find that (that's not cheap, $24 for a gallon, but that's more than enough).
