The first 20K UOA is here:

http://www.bobistheoilguy.com/forums/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=1953299#Post1953299

Miles on car 231,143, miles on oil 41,023 miles

Total oil used is 7 Liters of LiquiMoly Longtime Hightech 5W30 and 2 quarts of Redline 30WT race oil and 8oz of Z-MAX. One VW full flow filter and an Amsoil BE-90 were used.

First column is UOA at 20K, second column is UOA at 41K. All UOAs were done by Polaris lab.

The Oxidation number is due to the Red Line oil.

I refilled the car with Red Line 5W20 and replaced the full flow filter but did not replace the BE-90 since it still has very good output. I replaced the air filter but not the fuel filter.

You put 5w20 in your TDI??

I know it's Red Line and all, but still!

This current report is pretty stellar, that being said. Nice results.

After Red Line 5w20 I am going to run NEO 0W5. My goal is mileage so I am willing to sacrifice some engine protection.

You may sacrifice your engine, with a TDI....

It's his nickel. And besides, he will probably be testing frequently to see how this works out. So the oil will probably be changed before it does any significant damage.

azsynthetic,

Very interesting, indeed! I can't wait to see the Redline 5W-20 and NEO 0W-5 tests! Thank you for posting.

Yup, that is my VOA of the oil that I am going to run. Not sure what the NEO will shear down to after 10K though. Mileage is indeed up a little bit with the 5W20, so far so good.

Maybe Blackstone made a typo on your VOA, and the vis should be 4.7, not 7.4?

I felt like this was worthy of a bump. This is an insane UOA.

Of course the bypass sure helped...wow.

It leaves me wondering how well it could have done without the bypass?
