I've got an '04 Buick Rendevous. Did a change of the FF ATF Dex III at around 68,000 miles or so. I replaced it with 8 quarts of Valvoline Full Synthetic Dex-VI and a GM filter. It ran great after that. Shifts smoother, better MPG's.
Now (at about 88,000 miles) my mother is saying that it feels like it is slipping in lower gears or that it won't shift. Also, is getting worse MPG.
I know this type of car does have a reputation of having problems with the transmission, but I was just wondering, do you guys think that maybe another pan drop and filter change may help? The fluid was really dirty when we did the change and I'm wondering if the new synthetic did a lot of cleaning and maybe needs changed again.
Or do you guys think that we should just take it to the dealer and have them take a look? Only reason haven't taken it to dealer yet is that all our GM dealers around here are horrible and usually takes them 3 times to get anything right.
I haven't got to drive it or take a look at it yet, haven't had time yet, so this is all on what my mother is saying.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, Thanks in advance.
