Brake fluid for Mercedes; DOT 4 Plus...

...but apparently there is no DOT 4 Plus "rating", just DOT 4. Any info or suggestions?

Yes, but...but there are fluids that are superior to DOT 4. As said above, buy from any European car dealership parts counter or one of the ATE or other European brands. DOT 5.1 is another unofficial rating, and probably the same as 4+. It meets the same performance standard as (silicone) DOT 5, but has the same chemical composition as DOT 4+, similar to DOT 4, close to DOT 3.
 
The 4+/5.1 is a way of marketing something better than what the available spec is. Low Viscosity-DOT4 is another.

DOT4 is an excellent brake fluid. If you bleed every year or 2, you don't need to worry about moisture dropping the boiling point to danger zone, especially if you don't race or drive on the autobahn.

If you never plan on bleeding the system again, or purposely neglect the fluid, visit the dealer and buy the labeled DOT4+. I don't want you to be able to blame the fluid for failure caused by negligence or abuse.
