I had two of those in the mid 80s. An Escort and a Tempo. I got 45 MPH local and 52 HWY. As for the head gasket, Ford sent a letter with a 100K warrenty on the head gasket. Nice engines but very high in maintainence. Since they only had 65 HP they were a dog on power.
