I have some leftover marine grease from my boating days. I was going to use it in my riding lawn mower's deck spindles. Would this be sufficient for this application? TIA

Sometimes greases aren't compatible. That said, this is such a low speed/stress (even low risk result) application; I would try mixing some of this grease with old grease, if they seem to mix, I'd use it.

I would not use this approach on car ball joints though. Nowadays most car ball joints are sealed from factory anyway.

I don't see how it would hurt in this application. It may even be a good thing. Many spindles poop out because of water getting into them.

Thanks for the replies. Its the Supertech variant from Wally World. I will use it instead of tossing it.
