Was looking around the shop today for something to lube the splines on my bikes shaft drive. Found a tube of mercruiser spline lube and was curious if it had any moly content. Pulled the msds spline grease and was suprised to see it was lead based?

Ended up using something else but just wondered if the lead based grease would have better (than moly based)?

Lots of antisieze compounds used to contain lead. Works great on the BBQ, too

So if I fry up mercury filled fish on a lead lubed grill would I create a new super grease? and can I lube my splines with it.

Leaded grease and gear oils are not used much if at all anymore due to "heavy Metal" bugabo.
lead works very well as a EP additive similar usage as Moly but do not know which is better.
