Lubriplate question

When I went looking for something to grease the zerks on my lawn tractor, what I ended up with is Lubriplate "Special Auto-Marine Grease", described on the tube as a N.L.G.I 2 petroluem oil (grease). I haven't found any info on their site www.lubriplate.com which exactly matches this name (there is a special marine grease, but not an auto-marine). So...is this suitable for this application or should I be looking for something better?

It's probably ok. For outdoor equpment, I too use Marine-grade grease.

Lubriplate makes very fine products,their 1200 seris is a old mainstay in the grease world,their new synt. lines of greases are outstanding...BL

For a lot of oldtimers, any Lubriplate product was the equivilent of GC.

old bridgeport mills specifically call out lubriplate grease in the manuals.
