Could this be why Amsoils lithium waterproof grease works so well?

Lithium Complex Thickened Grease shows Improved Water Resistance with Addition of Bismuth Carboxylate

- PAPER # 0208 -

Water washout characteristics and mechanical shear stability were investigated in a lithium complex thickened grease formulated with a bismuth carboxylate. Test results indicate that the water resistant properties of the lithium complex grease were enhanced by the presence of the bismuth carboxylate. The data also shows that the improvement in water resistance is relatively unaffected even when the acidic carrier of the bismuth carboxylate is neutralized.

I have been using it in the 2 pressure pots at work. They have a big o-ring and bare metal at the top of the vessel and lid. I did not realize that it had anything special in it. But it would have to.

It seems to be working pretty well. Could you elabrate on your usage?
