I use an oversize Mobil 1-105 filter on my Nissan cars. I would prefer to use a Purolator One. Purolator doesn't have a direct cross reference filter that I can find to match the gasket size on the M1-105. Fram has the 7317 which has far less area than the oversize Mobil. What Purolator filter is a close match to the Mobil?

PL14610 is what I have used. That is the cross to the m1-110. I use the Honda equivalent. There is only a Puro CLASSIC that will come close to that spec. L10193 or WIX 51318. I go longer you go fatter I guess. You might as well stick to those M1-105's.

There is a Pure1 PL10193, with nearly the same dimensions as the Classic L10193, however, its bypass is rated 8-16 psi compared to 15-18 for the Classic.

@Kurt & Chubbs ~ Thank you for the cross refernce Purolator numbers. The M1-05 work on both my Nissans. It is always nice to have options and I consider the Purolator One line to be top quality. The can dimensions are similar but it is the gasket dimensions that concern me the most. Have either of you used this on a Nissan application?

I personally have not, Nissan stuck a piece of metal to "protect" the oil filter, and I cant go much wider on my altima. The Maxima and Sentra are different year/design so I would just say stick with the M1, You could easily use them for two OCI's. The newer altima's are spec'ed for a filter that is so small it is laughable (it's a motorcycle filter) I just use the filters I use on the Honda's which are at least a little bigger/Longer.

I would be pretty sure that the P1/WIX would fit your car. It crossed over on two websites I used. If it doesn't take it back.

The largest filter(and it was quite large) that Purolator had made for a Nissan was #24458 and it has been discontinued. Next is the #14459 and after that is the #14610. I'm sure that there are other numbers that will fit but I am unaware of them at this time.

Each time that I tried oversizing filters on my 04 Altima 2.5s, there seem to be more startup rattle. So, I continue to use the #14610 with the best results.

FYI ... it was discovered that the 14610 has more media area than the 14459. 14610 @ 105 sq-in and 14459 @ 85 sq-in.

This is good to know. I often get the 14459 when I can't find the 14610 during an oil/filter special/sale. I think I'll try to stay with the 14610 when possible. Lately, I've been getting almost no start up rattle with either filter but, most of the time the 14610 gives me the least start up rattle of the two.
