WAYNE: Keep up the good work! You ran this oil 5,327 miles, which is longer than
any other sample across the page. Wear metals are low, which is a good indication that your engine didn't
mind the longer run. The TBN showed plenty of active additive remaining in the oil at 7.6. A TBN is too low
at 1.0. Try up to 7,000 miles on the next fill.

my previous uoa

Insolubles went from 0.3(last sample) to 0.1 this sample. Same oil filter? If yes then maybe the filter became more efficient since you put more miles on this sample but not by much.
Love Shell oils and their consistent performance.

Why is the TBN higher on this run compared to your last UOA with fewer miles?

Excellent UOA, though. I think if all the Subie owners came here and saw how Rotella 5W-40 has done over the past few years, everyone would be using it, lol.

Another good Subaru turbo UOA on RT6. This is getting boring.

Some engines just 'take' to certain oils.

RT6 and Subie engines just seems to be another good match-up.

Not arguing we all know RTS is a fine oil but some engines are easier on oil then others.

and 5k isn't that Long of a run..lets double it.

I don't like recommending extended drains when under warranty. Looks like you're well past 60k. The UOA doesn't lie, so 6-7K would be fine.

I wouldn't double it in an STi.

I wouldn't double it in an STi.

With a report like that at only 5327 miles and only a .5 qt make up you wouldn't take it to 10,000?? i would in a heart beat..

you could double the wear metals in that report and it would still look fine.

What oil filter did you use?

This reinforces my decision to switch from GC to RT6. My copper levels have never been as low as yours.
