The casino I work at also has a chevron and while I was walking back inside I noticed the 10% Ethanol sticker on the pumps!!!! Please tell me this is just my local Chevron saving a quick buck!!! It is one of the cheapest places in my county so I hope thats why its an E10. Let me know if your local Chevrons are or are not E10!!!

Only makes sense. With E85 being 15% gas, the blend pump would be set up to do the same for G85 and 15% Ethanol. I see a day where stations will have a regular, a premium, and an ethanol tank, and blend from the three. There are several folks on the board that have experimented with what would be E40 in non flex fuel cars with OK results.

We have a couple of those. You can choose 87, 89, 91, 93 versions of E10, E20, E30, E85. Honestly, I've been tempted to try E20 or E30 since they recieve a tax break like E85 and are usually pretty cheap compared to the E10 that's required here.

Giving the choice to consumers isn't that technologically difficult, and I'd much rather have that than mandatory E15 or E20. And I'm someone who doesn't mind E10.

There is no good that can come from using ethanol, unless you live in Brazil or drive an E85 equipped vehicle.

Seriously, one of the dumbest moves in modern automotive technological "advancements."

There are only 2 places that I know of that sell pure gas here. One is 35 miles away and the other is a boat shop, but they charge about an extra $1 or so per gallon.

Instead I'm stuck with bad gas mileage and small engine problems using E10.

It doesn't make any sense.

Chevrons in Washington state has been E5...E10 for a long time. They have no refineries up there, buy off racks and add pack per spec. You need to to to BC to get E0 at the Shell stations but have to get the 91 octane. Probably not worth it.

to OP:

lemme guess: exit 202 on I-5 south, right behind from premium outlet, am I correct?

The other alternative is that MiraStar station (from exit 200 side) but then again, no guarantee with the quality of the gas either (cheep, but ok).

I'm never too upset about having ethanol in my gas/car at all, citing that my fit has the ability to self-adjust the ignition timing to compensate for it and still gets avg. 45mpg cruising down the highway. Besides: one can most definitely make use of that extra bit of ethanol (moisture absorber and also contains anti-knock qualities) in my gas anyways.

Q.

Yea all our Chevron's here are E-10....the only E-0 I know of is a BP station "down south" at the beach, that caters to boaters and other "recreation" vehicles that are "picky" about their fuel (E-10....lol)...

Never been there, only heard of it, but I'm willing to bet they are higher priced, since they don't get that E-10 "tax credit"....

The tax credit for 10% ethanol is 10% of 51 cents or 5.1 cents + state credits. The real price increase is from BOAT.
