I just did an oil change on my friends 1994 Nissan Altima GXE, he bought the car used with 156,000 miles.
When he got the car he wanted me to put some MMO into his oil, so I put in 16 ounces of MMO and I checked his oil level the next day and it was fine.
I told him to come back after driving 1000 miles with the MMO in his engine, the oil that was changed today came out very DARK, it was PITCH BLACK.
Since the car holds 4.2 quarts of oil I told him to pickup 4 quarts of 10W-30 motor oil from CarQuest, it came out to $2.68 a quart.
He told me 5W-20 and 5W-30 brand Carquest Dino oil is going for $3.28 a quart.
So, we changed his oil filter with a CarQuest Oil Filter, ironically the oil filter that was taken off was a CarQuest oil filter.
I added 4 quarts of oil and 24 ounces of MMO and told him to check the oil level tommorow, I put the remaining 8 ounces of MMO in his fuel.
I told him to get the 10W-30 oil as opposed to the 5W-30 motor oil because it is summer and I knew we would be adding some MMO.
I will see how his oil looks when we go to change it again, and next time I just may have him get 5W-30 instead.
