What is the correct antifreeze to put in an 01 Hyundai Elantra? I'm going to be doing the timing belt soon and aim to replace the water pump while I'm in there so I'll flush the cooling system and I want to replace with the correct formulation.

Regular green color coolant. However this would be a great time to use an extended life coolant. My favorite being a G-05/G-05 clone (any brand basically).

That does sound appealing. In a while I'll have a fresh 3.1 coming online for the wife's Grand Am and have been considering using G 05 for it. I'm trying to standardize as much as I can for both our vehicles....

The G-05 is a good replacement for the original Hyundai coolant.

I am using G-05 for the same reason - multiple brands of cars but a desire to use one coolant.

G-05 is compatible with just about all of them.
