1962 Peterbilt 281, original 280hp 855 cu in Cummins. Since I don't drive the truck much I have been changing the oil and filters every easter. This last year I only put at the most 500 miles on it so I sent a sample in to see if I could wait till next year.

Looks like I can wait another year atleast. Hers what Blackstone says. If I didn't post an element thats because it's zero.

Aluminum 1
Iron 2
Copper 1
Calcium 3438 (!)
Magnesium 10
Phosphorus 1139
Zinc 1531

SUS@210F 77.0

Flashpoint 415

TBN 11

Blackstone said to leave it in.

Total capacity is 12 gallons. 6 qts between add and full on the dipstick. It's never consumed or lost enough oil to get down to the add mark so I've never added any.

It's good stuff.

Love to see examples of low annual mileage able to go for multiple years. The whole " ... or one year" mantra is often a waste. This is yet more proof. No sense in dumping that oil. It's not like there's any warranty to void ...

Let the UOA be your guide!

Every time I see something like this, I feel good about leaving Rotella 10w-30 in my (very low annual mileage) 1966 289 Mustang for 3 year OCIs!

Nice UOA! I agree, leave it in!
Basically. Only 1 truck show a year here. I do ocasionally take it to the local car shows if they are having one in a big enough lot. Couple years ago it went to a Route 66 car show.

This was a Halloween trunk or treat.

Nice truck, pull another oil sample in one year and see how it looks.

Do you run a fuel conditioner in that old timer?

Neat truck. Although it does look out of place sitting next to all those hot rods, like the tall kid in elementary school.
