There is a decent deal at O'Reilly's auto parts / Kragen for 5 qts of O'Reilly brand oil + and M1 filter for $17.99.
Fatwallet Deal
There are differing opinions about who makes their oil? Does it vary regionally or do they have one source for their Oil? My store in Wauconda IL, stated that Valvoline makes their oil. Is this legit? Too legit to quit?

Question: Who makes O'Reilly's brand of oil?

Answer: O'Reilly's brand of oil is manufactured and packaged by Omni Specialty Packaging. Omni is an independent lubricant manufacturer in Shreveport, LA. While Omni is not affiliated with any "major" manufacturer, we do buy our base oils from companies like Exxon/Mobil and Shell.

Question: What specs does O'Reilly motor oil meet and how does it compare to name brand oils?

Answer: O'Reilly brand motor oils meet API 'SM' service classification and where applicable ILSAC 'GF-4'. Both API 'SM' and ILSAC 'GF-4' are the latest industry standards for passenger car motor oils. These are the same specifications that all "major" brand oils should meet.

pretty good deal i mean just the filter is 12.99 so what are you paying for 5qts like 5 bucks, change it at 4500 miles and call it a day.

I have a few quarts left. my car has an oil leak to begin with, but it's a bad design (LIM gasket is bad), and not the oil's fault.

A good oil for the price.
