Post your latest small engine oil change

Honda GVC160 engine, change it once a year with WM straight 30 non-detergent oil like the manual says. No wasting money using 0w-40 GC or RL in a mower.....

Put the 2005 Toro Snowblower to bed last weekend. Gave the Techumseh Snow King HMSK90 (IIRC) a fresh oil change using 5w30 Motorcraft Oil. Goes in everything else around here too! (Except the lawnmower - that wakes up in a week or so...)

How old is your owner's manual? I thought recommendations for non-detergent oil went out 40 years ago, and I thought Honda recommended 10W30.

I changed Amsoil SM HP 10w-30 out of my 9 HP snowblower and 4 HP Honda edger. Oil looked pathetic. Valves sounded bad...even thought I was going to throw a rod in the new Honda 9HP.

Now...5w-30 Royal Purple SL grade in both engine. Run great and quiet.

Never an SM oil again!

Sounds somewhat like me. When I ran out of my old stock of M1 5W30 I was using in my mowers and other OPE, I went to the M1 10W30 High Mileage oil, which is still SL.

5w-30 SHELL full syn / P.P. mix for 4 H.P. Tecumseh lawn mower , P.P. 5w-30 for 5 H.P. Tecumseh snow plower , and P.P. 5w-30 for 5 H.P. mower . Plan to switch to 10w-30 P.P or the ULTRA for both lawn mowers . Plan to get 5 quart jug of 1 of the 2 .

Straight 30wt in a 19 HP Briggs on a rider, straight 30 wt in a Tecumseh 3.5 HP on a push mower, straight 30 wt in a 6 HP Briggs Quantum on a mower, straight 30 wt in a Briggs 4 HP on a mower, straight 30wt in a Briggs 3.75 HP on a mower, straight 30 wt in another Briggs 4 HP on a mower, 10W 30 in a 5 HP Honda on a mower, 10W 30 in an 8 HP Honda on a concrete saw, straight 30 weight in a 5 HP Briggs on a tiller, straight 30 wt in a four-stroke weed whacker. Troybilt four stroke weedwhacker...what a piece of junk. That was this last weekend.

Seven air filters, 4 lengths of starter rope, three diaphrams on tank mounted Briggs, three bowl gaskets, two cans of plain-label carb cleaner, one battery charged, and a partridge in a pear tree...silly me!
