I work as an emt for a private ambulance company before I start my shifts I usually check the oil, ok heres the wierd part on our ford ambulances i'll check the oil and even with about 3000 miles on the oil, they get changed every 3000 the oil and yes it is on the dipstick but it is almost clear, but this is on our 6.0 powerstrokes our chevys have black oil, what gives? I know this is wierd.

stxonall8--that last post i made on my pm to you explains it all!

It may appear this on the dipstick with the 6.0 having a white tip on it depending on year. It could just be appearence on the different dipsticks. The duramax also has a tendency to over fuel or have slightly leaky injectors especially in the LB7's. How they are driven can also contribute to this.....AND the cartridge filter on the 6.0 is very good compared to most spinons that would go on the dmax. The powerstroke is much harder on oil then the dmax is so don't let the col,or on the dipstick fool you into extending your OCI past 6000 miles with dino oil.

ALWAYS use Factory filters on the 6.0
