Had some open channel and 3x3 steel tubing sandblasted. It was galvanized metal on a boat trailer.

What is recommended for cleaning steel after sandblasting? I was thinking air blast the metal then solvent wipe, or hot soap and water? But I would be concerned about rust?

Solvent clean with some prep sol, or acryliclean. And paint asap.

No water.

^^^ what Jake said. If you want to take it a step further, give the surface a phosphate treatment. Chemicals are available from your local paint shop supply house.

We sandblast every single day...Don't wipe with anything, man!
You have a compressor, so use air..you can get filters for the very tip from paintshops that stop water/oil.
Lacking that, use a new china-bristle brush.
Paint NOW or rust starts fast, due to the peaks/valleys...

+1 do not wipe no need blow off and prime right away. I never touch a thing after sandblasting just paint.
