UOA 06 Dmax @68K 16,500m on RTS 5-40 w/FS2500

I'm surprised there isn't more fuel in. Been making mostly short trips and have added a bit of fuel(tuning) to the truck. Thread from old sample

Shell Rotella T 5W/40 (Syn) 2qt make up oil 16,500 Miles on the oil FS 2500 filter Ci-4 and Cj-4 mix

We suggested 13K to 14K-miles for this oil change but you tried 16.5K-miles and wear still looks
pretty good. Iron (steel parts) increased because iron tracks with miles of oil use. 28 ppm is not real high but more than double the universal average. If the iron doesn't bother you, we think you could add another 3,500-5,000 miles to this oil before you change it. Silicon and insolubles were still low showing normal air and oil filtration. No fuel or coolant was present in this sample. Check back for another look at this oil. It's working well for you

I'd say for 16k miles, that is pretty low wear.

this has to be the best 5w-40 rotella uoa i've ever seen with that amount of miles on sample, where did the 2 qts. go out the tailpipe or do you have a leak?

2 qts in 16.5Kmi is nothing. I burn 2 qts in 3000mi which is a consumption rate of only 1:750 oil:fuel or 0.133%. Mercedes says anything under 0.5% is normal. Not much with a 30qt pan; keeps the oil "renewed".
Of course my engine may not be broken in with 34K miles.

Ya the 2 qts is thanks to the PCV sucking it out. I just added a 3rd qt after this UOA came back good.
