plus 50 is awfully hard to top, i run it in everything from a 48 ford flathead to my 07 6.0 powerstroke.
those aluminum numbers are nothing to be concerned with.
i would venture to say that in a 5.9 one could stretch oci to 12,000mi., maybe 15,000mi with uao's of course.
in my 6.0 (the oil sheering monster) plus 50 looks great at 7500mi. after all plus 50 means just that, plus 50% of recomended oci. i know they state jd equipment with jd filters, but yhe uoa's speak for themselves
