I have just replaced my rear hatch back lever on 01 Sequoia and need to clean/free up the latch mechanism that shows signs of sticking and rust.I have been using PB blaster on the latch and it semes to be doing a good job. I would like to know that type of lube that I can use on the lock after that will not freeze.

Not sure the exact lever mechanism. What did the factory use? Light grease or?

I use a light silicone spray for non-hard sliding contact. I use light synthetic grease if it's hard sliding contact/wear surfaces.

In the old days my dad used graphite for lock stuff......I'm not sure that's the best choice.

Or a lithium grease in a spray can. Good to get to hard to reach places if that is an iossue in your case.
