A good add on to my AV?

Okay, I have a quick question here. I'm getting high speed internet, and I'm changing things up a little.

I'm looking for something to go with my AV (AVG free) to add just a little extra protection. My AVG has been the best AV I've had so far, and it works really well. But I'm not sure how certain software is going to react to what I have.


I've been told to try lavasoft. I'd like to keep it free (if possible), and if I like it, I might just buy it anyways. Any suggestions?

AVG once they went to ver 8 became too slow and bloated.

I went to Avast which is miles better than AVG but so far Security essentials is nice.

You should have only one anti-virus program installed on your computer.

Two can cause problems!

That's what I heard - there should be only one AV program on a comp.

I got rid of AVG free ver 8 as it became too sluggish and troublesome, and have installed Avira Free which i am pretty happy with. It has caught several nasties on the go.

I am curious about the MS SE too though - might install that on wifey's laptop (still has AVG there-i need to get rid of it) and see how it is...

Can MS SE be used with antispyware (not dedicated AV) applications like SAS, Spybot, MWB, etc?

I hope so since I just spent a hour or so scanning my wifes computer with a few stand alone programs.
