You know Christmas is getting near when:

The tow-truck drivers can't keep up with request for towing vehicles that have recently wrecked in the local mall parking lot.

The news paper boy who hardly ever gets the paper on the front porch, gets the paper on the front porch every day, in hope that you will remember him with a good Christmas tip.

Yep, and the Chia pet, the Clapper, and every other crazy thing that you never hear about the rest of the year start showing up on television advertisements.

It's my favorite time of the year! :)

School starts. That signals the beginning of the advertising blitz for the Christmas shopping trimester.

Personally, I think we should drop the facade that Christmas is a season and just advertise Christmas year round.

All roads leading to the mall are bumper-to-bumper, slow moving, every evening, regardles of the weather.

The football season reaches the point that you are concerned about the number of first string players injuries affecting the possibility of your home town team getting to and/or performing well in the play-offs.

That one relative who you haven't seen all year calls to ask if Christmas dinner for everyone will be at you house again this year. And the phone call reminds you how each time they visit their vehicle always manages to mysteriously have some problem requiring your attention before they would be able to drive it home.

You work in the electronics section of a major retailer and all sundays are nearly as busy as black friday weekend.

You know Christmas is getting near when:

You are concerned about the relatives that are traveling to your area getting stranded in some airport if they miss a connecting flight, and a major snow storm is affecting air travel.

Your sister figures out that the stamps really have been disappearing faster than they should of been. She ketches her five year old stealing a stamp out of her purse just before he leaves for school in the morning. When she asks him way he shows her the letter to "Stntacaus". When she asks him if he has taken other stamps he sais he has been putting a letter in the mail box every morning for about a week.
