Great article on the Auto 5. I have a Remington Model 11 in 16 gauge. I used it growing up hunting pheasants in Nebraska. Your article confirms what I had already read that the last year was either '48 or '49. Keep up the good work.

SJohnson- Thanks for the comments on the A5 piece. I don't know if many people appreciate what a big deal that gun was.
I'm in a Gunsite shotgun class next month and will be using my cutdown Rem 11.
