Here's what my 2009 Accent's manual says:

"Use only high quality, aluminum compatible, ethylene glycol antifreeze that conforms to SAEJ1034/ASTMD3306 specifications with high anhydrous sodium silicate content."

So, is that just plain old Prestone? The first replacement interval is 96000kms (60000mi) or 60 months, then every 48000kms (30000mi) or 24 months. Unlike my Honda vehicles, it does not specify to use "Hyundai" coolant.

Yup its regular green coolant. I use Prestone or havoline, whatever I happen to have in the garage already. Oh I have a 2006 Kia Rio, basicly the same car.

The only 'Prestone' coolant that I ever see is AMM which is not
'regular green coolant' but is rather an EL OAT. The only (name brand) 'regular green coolant' I can find is PEAK traditional.

Having said that, I don't believe you would have a problem using Prestone AMM as long as you flushed out the factory coolant well.

I called my Kia, Hyunday's sister company, dealer. They recommended regular green (non-extended life). I picked up NAPA's regular green, it is a low silicate, phosphated coolant. I have not seen the old, old school, high silicate green coolant anywhere.

Chevron Supreme is also a regular green antifreeze, not an all makes/models..I have found it at Food Lion if there are any in your area..

Peak in the blue bottle I think is a regular green. It should be stocked at O'Reilly's. Also check for Zerex Original formula Green if you can find it. The Carquest near me stocks Zerex.
