My neighbors new sprinklers covered one side of my truck with hard water spots. I tried the stuff that I use on my boat to remove spots, but it doesn't seem to work on paint.

What should I use to remove these nasty spots?

I think he has spots on paint.

The usual list of tasks in order of attack:
1. use a 50/50 water vinegar mix
2. use a non-abrasive paint cleaner like Mothers Pre-Wax Cleaner
3. Scratch Remover on spots
4. Use machine polish

Agreed. Try the vinegar mix first. The mild acidity will usually break the bond the minerals have with the paint.

The water/vinegar mix is what I use on the jetskis.

I was really skeptical when I read it, but it really works.

What I am looking for is a way to *prevent* water spots from forming. Do I need to buy Paul Dalton's million dollar wax?
