Have you used the Mobil Hm oil in your Cherokee before this? Did it seem like it was dirty/cleaned well compared to other oil at 4k miles? Thanks
I have used M1 HM in this particular Jeep since it had about 150k on it right after M1 HM first hit the Wal-Mart shelves...The Jeep now has 179k on it, but has been retired as a DD since a year ago. I have gone 3-4k OCI on M1 since I bought the Jeep with 65k on it in 2001. The only thing I can say for sure between the regular M1 vs the HM formula is that they seemed to darken about the same rate, but the standard M1 seems to burn off faster a little bit. I honestly can't say for sure the answer top your question but I would imagine that if you chose a full-syn oil for an older motor, then I'd definitely use a HM formula...if it was me I would use a HM dino oil like Pennzoil or Maxlife in that truck.
