Eclipse is running 10W-30 Mobil 1 HM with a Mobil 1 oil filter

535i is running 10W-30 Mobil 1 with a Purolator oil filter

TODAY....2005 Toyota Camry 2.4 46300 miles.
dumped out Mobil 1 and Mobil 1 filter at 7 K oci miles and it was very black.....all highway miles.
Put in PP and Mobil 1 filter and will run again to around 7 k , all highway.

I've used Mobil 1 10w-30 in my truck for 17 years. This weekend I went with Pennzoil 10w-30 HM, and a NAPA Gold filter. Since I'm only putting around 2K miles a year on it now, I figured synthetic was no longer necessary. Not sure if I'm gonna stick with the PZ, but thought I'd give it a try. Not sure if I needed HM either, as the truck doesn't leak any oil or have any other problems.

I was going to run the Pennzoil 5W-30 I had in there to 5,000 miles but I had the valve cover open to adjust the valves and wanted to change it out because of the silicon (hondabond) used on the gasket and the dirt/dust that may have been introduced. It only made it to 3,920 miles or so.

I changed my buddy's oil in his 93 Ford Ranger Splash with 312k miles with Valvoline Maxlife with a Motorcraft filter.

Now that I have over 15,000 miles on the car, I'm planning on running a manufacturer-approved oil for a warranty period OCI and getting my first UOA. Hopefully, if there's a developing problem in my engine I'll see some sign of it on paper and be able to fix it within the regular warranty period.
