The Group II based HDEO 10W-30 oils like Rotella or Delo are very good oils and would be a good conventional substitute for 502.00. They are blended up around 12.0 cSt and are HTHS > 3.5 just like the 502.00 oils
Delo 400 LE 10W-30 … 12.0 cSt
Rotella T 10W-30 … … 12.0 cSt
With an 8 quart sump, these HDEO would run 5k miles easy.
How about the Rotella 5W40 synthetic?

I honestly dont feel confterable running any of those for 10k
5k OCIs for me
That is exactly how I feel as well. I think the VW engines are very hard on oil, as I have read and think 5k OCI's would be better. I can't imagine that doing 5k OCI's as opposed to doing 10K OCI's would void a warranty.
