How long to run ATF remote filter?

I've installed a remote ATF filter where I plumb it into the cooler lines and goes to a oil filter mount with a 3/4x16 thread. I'm using a mobil 1 oil filter and I was wondering how long I can run the filter? 15K like the filter box says or 30K-60K until the next transmission flush?

Good question. I'd have a hard time leaving it on long enough. I think (an opinion) your 30k-60k number is right.

Run it 50K or whatever, then cut out the element and inspect it.

I would figure the pan element would get 98% of the contaminants. Transmissions don't have a lot of junk anyway.

I would think 50K would be very conservative.

Probably 100,000 miles +. Subarus spin-on ATF had a recomendation to change only if damaged or transmission needed work. I changed mine out at ~ 110,000 miles( no guts to leave it on) and cut it open. The filter looked like new at 110,000 miles
