In googling this, it seems like it's just a PS additive to get rid of rack whine...
Does anyone know if this increases the viscosity as well.
Was reading a BMW service bulletin recommends, adding a small qty to the reservoir.
I'm not sure if this is only to cure noise.
Awhile back, I swapped out the PS fluid in my BMW (which calls for Dex II) to Amsoil ATF. It made the fluid very loose -- too loose IMO. So I picked up a bottle of Castrol, as I read somewhere online that that was the OEM fluid. Castrol firmed it up a bit but it was still too loose and a bit noisy. Mobil 1 Dex III did the trick. Not the universal or multi ATF. It was branded M1 Dex III.
