A GOOD one will not, now whether a real world example will do as well is another issue. It may not be the cleaner itself, but the deposits loosened up and then go down strean and clog sensors.IMHO.
It would be on the passive level, if anything. Once the chemical is spent, I imagine it's spent. On numb'r speed density systems, it will restore a closer balance to the injectors ..reducing the overly lean/overly rich average that the O2 sensor sees ..etc..etc.
